The result, and 6 point haul, for the visitors gives them a 12 point lead with the Institute still having a game in hand, but if the Institute fail to pick up at least 5 points this week the Brewery Tap “B” will be crowned champions. A late 400 for Mountain knocked the final nail in the coffin for Hale as she ran out an excellent 1520-320 victor. Some exceptional shots from Mountain gave her an early lead and Hale was unable to make any visit count as Mountain continued to pull further and further in front.
Hoping to make it a whitewash Steve Hale found Dani Mountain in inspired form for the hosts. Kieran Pettitt was to make it 5-0 with a 1720 -190 win over Ellie Breeds.

Ellie Breeds & Tom Norton came up just short in their pursuit of Steve Hale & Keiran Pettitt losing by just 80 points 1160-1080.Ģ-0 up the Tap “B” pushed home their advantage but were finding the Edwardstone side a tough nut to crack as Dan Price & Tom Norton both put on valiant performances in defeat against Jeff Bridges & Sam Kerruish. Things started very well with Sam Kerruish & Jeff Bridges beating Dani Mountain & Dan Price 1760-630.

The 4 point haul for the Institute brought the gap to the Brewery Tap “B” to 6, and seeing what was unfolding at the Tap their game at Edwardstone White Horse meant the “B” side could take full advantage. The momentum was brought to a shuddering halt when Jonny Hamblin beat Ian Furlonger 1460-520 to make it 3-2 and things got worse as Dave Lillie took the scalp of Dick Cheshire in the final match 1600-1220 to leave the score level at 3-3. Chip Millins & Dick Cheshire soon levelled beating Jeremy Fry & Matt Coleman 1310-650.Ī fine performance from Michael Furlonger saw him put the visitors 2-1 up with a 1450-890 win over Fry, Chip Millins then secured the bonus point beating Matt Coleman 2290-750 and the Institute were on the march. It didn’t start well for the visitors as Dave Lillie & Jonny Hamblin overturned Ian & Michael Furlonger 1400-810. Two weeks remain the SBBA Summer League and after this weeks round of fixtures the Brewery Tap “B” have one hand firmly on the title.Ī 10 point advantage before the start of the weeks matches meant that the Sudbury Institute needed to record a big win at the Brewery Tap “A” if they wanted to keep themselves in the unit.
